Spend a day in Mekong River Delta to discover local life, enjoy sightseeing on the boating trip through a branch of Mekong River, try homemade coconut candy and see a mat weaving house and a delicious lunch of local specialties.
Depart from hotel for the trip leaving at 8: AM straight to Ben Tre, passing by the Trung Luong Highway and stunning Rach Mieu Bridge before arriving at the boat station. The boat takes cruising along the Ham Luong river (a branch of the Mekong) for sightseeing and stop at various local workplaces to present you the delta local life, including a local brick factory, where bricks are still painstakingly made by hand, a coconut candy workshop, where you can taste fresh coconut and observe how every single part of this versatile nut turned into food and other organic products, and a mat weaving house, where straw mats are woven using a handloom – you can also try weaving yourself!
The boat will then stop at a quiet Delta village to continue our Mekong discovery, you will try “xe loi” (motorized cart) to visit fruit orchards, enjoy seasonal fruit before having lunch at a riverside restaurant with local specialties as elephant-ear fish and river shrimp… and a cold beer!
After lunch, we continue to row a sampan along narrow canals of Delta area, back to boat station and get on the bus to Saigon, arrive city at 5:00 pm.
