Spend 2 Days in Mekong River Delta and explore these colorful vibrant regions in the South of Vietnam, row a sampan along narrow canals, visit the largest floating market of Mekong and experience local life with warm people.
Depart from Saigon city at 8 am and go straight to Ben Tre and arrive at the boat station. Cruising along the Ham Luong river (a branch of the Mekong) to see the colorful and vibrant region then stop at some local workshop, including a brickworks factory where locals still make bricks by hand, a coconut candy workshop and a mat weaving house. This is time for you to taste local coconut candy and even try making mat yourself.
The boat then arrives at a quiet village where you explore the real local life by “xe loi” (motorized cart) or cycle to visit fruit orchards, enjoy seasonal fruits before stopping at a riverside restaurant to taste delicious specialties.
In the afternoon, we board a sampan along narrow canals, back to boat station then get on a bus heading to Can Tho. You will spend the evening at your leisure time to discover the town by foot or rickshaw, find a quiet place for a cocktail by the river.
After having breakfast at the hotel, we take a boat cruise heading to Cai Rang floating market – the largest and most colorful floating market in the Mekong delta. The boat glides slowly through the market, you can take photos, interact with locals and explore a real authentic life on the river. Hundreds of floating boats of different sizes loaded seasonal goods, the sound, and the smell, all the local experience will be in your long-lasting memory. We then take a leisurely stroll through the houses of a nearby village to see fragrant tropical fruit orchards, cross over “monkey bridges”, and enjoy a cup of tea with warm locals. The trip continues to visit a noodle workshop and an ancient Khmer pagoda before driving back to Can Tho for lunch and back to Saigon in the afternoon.
