Pick up at Hue airport upon your arrival and transfer to your hotel.
In the afternoon, visit Hue ancient Citadel and explore the ruins of the home of the royal family. Travel by boat on Perfume River to Thien Mu Pagoda (about 40 minutes). After the visit to this impressive monument, continue to the extravagant mausoleum of Khai Dinh located on the south of Hue royal citadel. The tomb of Khai Dinh boasts traditional Vietnamese design with a European touch, making it unique from the other tombs in Hue. Back to Hue, you’ll also have time to experience the daily life of local folks with a visit to the Dong Ba market before returning to your hotel for a good night rest.
After breakfast, we will join in a 3 – hour journey to Hoi An.
Start your day by a warming-up around Lap An lagoon – the inhabitant area of many aquatic animal and plants. Ready to face our most unforgettable moment by climbing uphill the fantastic Pass of Clouds (Haivan pass).
You will stop at the Hai Van Pass for a short time. Next, we will visit the Cham Museum in Da Nang, the museum showcases the ancient Cham civilization. The Cham people left a legacy of excellent sculptures, now those sculptures are exhibited in the only museum of its kind in Da Nang. Near Da Nang is My Khe Beach, immortalized for many from the U.S. TV show and still one of the most spectacular beaches in Asia. The journey continues to the Marble Mountains for a photo stop on the way to Hoi An. These five rocky outcrops are said to represent five natural elements; the Marble Mountain is the source of many intriguing legends. They house temples and once even an army hospital! You will see skilled artisans carving all manner of statues from marble sourced locally at the mountain base.
Arriving in Hoi An in the early afternoon, having lunch, check-in hotel and free sightseeing time.
Overnight in Hoi An.
This day-long excursion combines a bicycle tour through coconut palm-fringed villages and a coracle tour to Thu Bon River. This is a unique opportunity to learn about the cultivation of organic produce alongside local farmers. A great way to experience rural Vietnam, and learn to cook some Vietnamese dishes, you can take a small part back home with you.
Pick up at your hotel. You take a short but beautiful ride through lush farmland, rice fields and small villages of Cam Thanh. We stop along the way to visit local villages and see how they use their surrounding resources to support their living using traditional methods.
Take a trip along the circuitous river by coracle (basket) boat. A local family and our tour guide will take you on a journey through an untouched waterway area which is fringed by river coconut palms. You will meet local fishermen who dredge the riverbed in search of river snails.
Arrive at Tra Que village. Enjoy the village tour to nurseries and herb gardens. You can find in the garden abundant herbs: bird’s eye chilli, lemongrass, basil, coriander and spring onions. All thrive in the rich soil.
Jump right in and see how the plots are planted, tended and watered with the guidance of local family farmers.
Relax and enjoy a traditional herbal foot massage in the garden.
The cooking class is hosted by a local family. Each cooking lesson starts with a short introduction, explanations and demonstration of starters, accompaniments, main courses and dessert. Then you roll up your sleeves and put your hand on preparing your own “Hoi An 3 course specialty lunch”. Together enjoy your effort at the family table.
Get on your bicycles for another gentle ride back to Hoi An. Along the way back, remember to take photos of the rice paddies and farmers leading their water buffalo home along the country roads.
Arrive back at your hotel.
Pick up at your hotel by jeep. Start our jeep tour through the countryside, stop at a busy fish market on the outskirts of Hoi An for capturing some great photo. Your drive continues 50kms toward My Son, passing by breathtaking scenery, rural villages and a bustling town and markets. We stop at an ancient Banyan Tree in Nam Phuoc and enjoy a cup of Vietnamese coffee.
We continue the jeep tour to My Son Sanctuary and arrive at the haunting sound of Cham music, we stop to a traditional dance performance on the charming music of Cham people. Your walking tour to the Cham ruins begins with a short ascent along a track bordered by jungle. As we reach the top, the ancient Cham towers appear. While you explore the area your guide will explain the history of the religious site which served as a burial site for the Cham monarchs many centuries ago.
Once we have explored My Son, we take the drive back to Hoi An by jeep to start our boat trip.
Before boarding our boat, we visit the Thanh Ha pottery village. The village is famous for its earthenware thrived in the 16th and 17th centuries. It continues to make the bricks and tiles and other earthenwares for the buildings in Hoi An. Afterwards, we continue to Thanh Ha Pier, board in your boat and take a sail through the Hoi An countryside along the picturesque Thu Bon River.
Relax and enjoy a Vietnamese cooking demonstration on We stop and enjoy the sights and sounds of Tra Nhieu fishing village, the Duy Hai fishing market, and stunning coconut forest of Bay Mau.
Optional activity: Some optional activities include kayaks and bicycles You can enjoy kayaking or paddle in a bamboo basket boat on the river, or cycling to Dong Binh Village and enjoy a closer look at the daily lives of the villagers.
Return to either Nguyen Hoang or Thuan Tinh dock and after a short stroll to your vehicle, we return to your hotel.
